The University of Thermalism is an annual international meeting dedicated to crenotherapy, designed as a unique opportunity for exchanging practices and experiences in the field of medical hydrology. This event brings together healthcare professionals, thermal medicine experts, academics, and researchers with the aim of exploring the latest advancements and challenges in thermalism.

“Thermalism in the 21st Century: Evidence-Based Approaches, Prevention, Data Integration, and Digital Technologies.”

Since its inception, this event has been placed under the high patronage of the French National Academy of Medicine, which validates the program each year before submitting the endorsement to a vote by its members. The first editions of this international congress were held in the amphitheater of the University Presidency at Place Carnot in Nancy. Since 2020, the sessions have been hosted in a thesis hall at the Faculty of Medicine in Nancy, where speakers present while participants from around the world follow the discussions and roundtables via videoconference.
This year, the University of Thermalism celebrates its 10th anniversary. To mark the occasion, a special edition will be held in Paris from December 5 to 7, 2024.

Guided tour of the Palais du Luxembourg from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM Paris time: an opportunity to explore this 17th-century architectural masterpiece, a symbol of French heritage.

The second day will be dedicated to the three working sessions of the University of Thermalism, held in the Monory Hall of the Palais du Luxembourg, from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM:
• Thermalism and Evidence-Based Medicine: An analysis of the necessity for thermal medicine to meet the requirements of clinical studies and health protocols.
Moderator: Prof. Pedro CANTISTA – Past President of the International Society of Medical Hydrology (ISMH)
• Innovations in Medical Hydrology: An overview of the latest strategies in prevention and rehabilitation.
Moderator: Dr. François BRAUN – French Minister of Health and Access to Healthcare (2022–2023)
• Thermalism in the Era of Data and Digitalization: An exploration of digital innovations and data management to enhance personalized care and the precision of clinical studies.
Moderator: Prof. Laurent PEYRIN-BIROULET – Director of IHU, INSERM NGERE, highly-cited researcher
These sessions, accessible through registration with limited in-person seating, will also be broadcast via videoconference or through a dedicated channel on the event’s website, allowing everyone to follow and participate in the congress.

The final day offers a guided tour of the Enghien-les-Bains Thermal Spa from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This is the only thermal establishment located near Paris, renowned for the quality of its sulfurous waters, which are beneficial for respiratory and ENT conditions. The tour will conclude with a brunch.
