VIII International Congress “Balneotherapy in Health Resort Treatment and Medical Rehabilitation Programs”

On March 20-21, 2025, Moscow will host the VIII International Congress “Balneotherapy in Health Resort Treatment and Medical Rehabilitation Programs”, held in conjunction with the World Water Day, which was launched by the UN General Assembly in 1992 and is celebrated in all countries annually on March 22.

The celebration reminds us of the value of such an essential natural resource as water and the importance of promoting sustainable management. Eight years ago, the idea of holding the Congress on the platform of the National Medical Research Centre for Rehabilitation and Balneology was inspired by the former President of the World Federation of Hydrotherapy and Climatotherapy (FEMTEC), Director of the Center for Integrative Medicine of the World Health Organization, Professor of the University of Milan Umberto Solimene.

The purpose of the Congress is to discuss the application of water resources in the context of protecting human health. It will also identify the needs and opportunities for the development of balneology and medical tourism in the face of contemporary challenges.

Congress Venue: 32, Novy Arbat str., Moscow. (Arbat Stars Hotel, “National Medical Research Centre for Rehabilitation and Balneology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia), hybrid format.

The Congress is organized by “National Medical Research Centre for Rehabilitation and Balneology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia, the Faculty of Geography of Lomonosov Moscow State University, the National Association of Experts in Spa Treatment and the Association of Spa and Tourist Cities.

The Congress will function as an open platform at the international level for the discussion of topical and significant issues of all stakeholders, including the state, international partners, scientific, educational, medical, health resort and tourism communities, and commercial entities operating in the field of medical and rehabilitation equipment.

Delegates will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with state-of-the-art methodologies and technologies employed in balneotherapy, which have already demonstrated their efficacy, as well as to gain insight into the best practices of quality management in the health resort industry. Furthermore, they will be able to draw from the experience of their peers in order to formulate effective strategies that will enhance the popularity of balneological resorts and services. International experience will be shared by experts from near and far abroad.
